A designer, a maker, and a workshop in Noosaville.
Grainline has designed and built custom kitchens across the Sunshine Coast since 2012, on one principle: the drawings are the contract, and the people who build your kitchen are the people who install it.
A kitchen is the most expensive piece of furniture most people ever buy, and the industry's dirty secret is how much of "custom" is imported flat-pack with a showroom markup. When a kitchen is done badly you live with it three times a day: doors that drift, drawers that bind, an island in exactly the wrong place.
Saskia had spent a decade designing kitchens for companies that built none of them; Dirk had spent the same decade building kitchens from other people's bad drawings. They started Grainline in 2012 to close that gap, one business where the person who draws it and the person who builds it share a surname and a workshop.
A kitchen fails on paper long before it fails in timber. So we get the paper right.
Today the workshop delivers full renovations, custom cabinetry, benchtops, pantries and trade packages across the Sunshine Coast, with no travel component within 40km of Noosaville.
Three things we will not compromise on.
The itemised page vs the text-message price.
Designed before built
Every project starts as a laser measure and millimetre drawings you sign off. The workshop never cuts to a sketch.
Made here, not imported
Carcasses and fronts built in our own Noosaville workshop. You can visit your kitchen while it is being made.
Named, never "equivalent"
The proposal names the hardware brand and the exact slab. What you chose is what gets installed, contractually.
Installed by the makers
The crew that built your cabinetry installs it. That is why the warranty runs ten years and the panel gaps stay true.
Who we are right for, and who we are not.
Honesty up front saves everyone a consult.
We are the right fit if you want a designed, workshop-built kitchen and can live with a real lead time. We are the wrong fit if you need a budget flat-pack by Friday, and we will happily say so on the phone and point you somewhere honest.
Insured, ticketed, and happy to prove it.

The QBCC licence is what protects you in Queensland: kitchen work over $3,300 legally requires it on the contract, and you can verify any licence number on the QBCC register. Grainline Kitchens & Cabinetry puts it on every proposal unprompted.
A small crew, not a call centre.
Saskia Hollander
Designer & co-owner
Fifteen years designing kitchens, the last ten on the Sunshine Coast. Runs every consult personally and draws every kitchen to the millimetre before it goes near the workshop.
“A kitchen fails on paper long before it fails in timber. So we get the paper right.”
Dirk Hollander
Cabinetmaker & co-owner
Trade-qualified cabinetmaker, QBCC licensed. Runs the workshop and installs what he builds, which is why the warranty is ten years and not one.
What happens from first call to walk-through.
Consult & measure
Showroom or in-home. We measure properly, talk budget honestly, and listen to how you actually cook.
Design & quote
A millimetre-accurate design with a fixed, itemised proposal. You sign off the drawings, not a sketch.
Built in our workshop
Your cabinetry is made in-house on the Sunshine Coast, checked against the drawings before it leaves.
Install & handover
Installed by the makers, trades coordinated, site left clean. Walkthrough against the drawings at handover.
Start with a measured design, not a brochure.
Tell us about your kitchen. We book a showroom or in-home consult, measure properly, and design to your budget before anything is built.
