The kitchen, properly rethought

Full Kitchen Renovations

A full renovation in your existing footprint is our bread and butter: a laser-measured design you sign off, cabinetry built in our own workshop, and a fixed itemised proposal before anything is cut.

Full Kitchen Renovations by Grainline Kitchens & Cabinetry
Scope

What this job includes.

  • Laser-measured design with signed-off drawings
  • Custom carcasses and fronts built in our workshop
  • Stone, porcelain or timber benchtops, templated exactly
  • Licensed plumber and electrician coordinated by us
  • Install by the makers, walkthrough at handover
Our system: The design is signed off before the workshop cuts a panel, which is why our installs fit first time and the warranty runs ten years.

What “designed first” actually means

Most kitchen quotes are a price for a picture. Ours is a price for a drawing: every carcass, every front, every hinge position, drawn to the millimetre from a laser measure of your actual walls (which are never as square as they look). You sign the drawings, the workshop builds to the drawings, and the install is checked against the drawings. When the price cannot drift, the only thing left to argue about is which slab looks best.

The week-by-week rhythm: design sign-off, then about three weeks of workshop lead time while your kitchen is built and dry-fitted in Noosaville, then five to eight days on site. The disruptive stretch, no sink and no benchtop, is usually two to three days in the middle, and we tell you exactly which days those are before demolition starts.

How we quote it

A fixed, itemised proposal from a measured design.

Named hardware, named slabs, signed drawings. The price cannot drift because the spec cannot drift.

The 7-line quote
  1. 1 The measured design. Laser-measured, drawn to the millimetre, and signed off by you before anything is cut.
  2. 2 Cabinetry, itemised. Carcass material, door fronts, hardware brand and finish, every unit on its own line.
  3. 3 Benchtops & surfaces. Stone or timber, slab grade, edge profile and cutouts, priced exactly, not "from".
  4. 4 Install & trades coordination. Our installers, plus the licensed plumber and electrician scheduled around your build.
  5. 5 Appliance integration. Panels, cutouts and clearances for your chosen appliances, checked against the drawings.
  6. 6 Approvals & site allowances. Where walls or services move: approvals, waste and protection, accounted for, not discovered.
  7. 7 Warranty, in writing. 10-year cabinetry warranty plus registered Blum and benchtop manufacturer warranties at handover.
If a quote doesn’t show these lines, you can’t compare it, and you don’t know what’s been cut.
How it runs

What happens, step by step.

1

Consult & measure

Showroom or in-home. We measure properly, talk budget honestly, and listen to how you actually cook.

2

Design & quote

A millimetre-accurate design with a fixed, itemised proposal. You sign off the drawings, not a sketch.

3

Built in our workshop

Your cabinetry is made in-house on the Sunshine Coast, checked against the drawings before it leaves.

4

Install & handover

Installed by the makers, trades coordinated, site left clean. Walkthrough against the drawings at handover.

Insured, covered, guaranteed

The paperwork behind the price.

Public liability to $20M, and a 10-year cabinetry warranty, all in writing, all on request.

Kitchen work over $3,300 in Queensland legally requires a QBCC licence on the contract, ours is on every proposal. We carry public liability to $20M, the cabinetry is warranted in writing for ten years, and the hardware and benchtop warranties are registered for you at handover.

The cover, the guarantee, and how to check each one.

Questions, answered

Full Kitchen Renovations: common questions.

How long does a full kitchen renovation take?
Typically 3 to 4 weeks of workshop lead time after design sign-off, then 5 to 8 days on site for a standard footprint. Moving services adds trade time. You get the real schedule with the proposal, not a guess.
Can I stay in the house during the renovation?
Almost everyone does. We set up a temporary kitchenette corner, sheet off the work area, and keep water available each evening. The genuinely disruptive window is usually 2 to 3 days.
Do you handle the plumbing and electrical?
Yes, through the licensed plumber and electrician we work with on every project, scheduled by us so the trades never hold each other up. Their work is itemised in the proposal.
What is included in the proposal price, and what is not?
The proposal covers cabinetry, benchtops, hardware, install, and the licensed trades we coordinate. Structural work or council approvals are itemised separately if needed, never buried in a contingency. You see every line before you sign.
How do I compare your quote against another kitchen company's?
Ask each company to name the carcass board, the door front brand and thickness, the hardware brand (Blum or generic), and the exact slab for the benchtop. If any of those are allowances or to-be-confirmed, the quotes are not yet comparable. Ours names all of them.
