One beautiful piece, done properly

Custom Cabinetry & Joinery

Not every project is a kitchen. Pantries, entertainment units, window seats, studies and one-off pieces get the same measured design, the same workshop, and the same ten-year warranty.

Custom Cabinetry & Joinery by Grainline Kitchens & Cabinetry
Scope

What this job includes.

  • Walk-in and butler's pantries
  • Entertainment and media wall units
  • Home office and study joinery
  • Window seats, bookcases and one-off pieces
  • Matched finishes to your existing kitchen
Our system: Custom pieces are designed first and quoted exactly, so a one-off never becomes an open-ended bill.
How we quote it

A fixed, itemised proposal from a measured design.

Named hardware, named slabs, signed drawings. The price cannot drift because the spec cannot drift.

The 7-line quote
  1. 1 The measured design. Laser-measured, drawn to the millimetre, and signed off by you before anything is cut.
  2. 2 Cabinetry, itemised. Carcass material, door fronts, hardware brand and finish, every unit on its own line.
  3. 3 Benchtops & surfaces. Stone or timber, slab grade, edge profile and cutouts, priced exactly, not "from".
  4. 4 Install & trades coordination. Our installers, plus the licensed plumber and electrician scheduled around your build.
  5. 5 Appliance integration. Panels, cutouts and clearances for your chosen appliances, checked against the drawings.
  6. 6 Approvals & site allowances. Where walls or services move: approvals, waste and protection, accounted for, not discovered.
  7. 7 Warranty, in writing. 10-year cabinetry warranty plus registered Blum and benchtop manufacturer warranties at handover.
If a quote doesn’t show these lines, you can’t compare it, and you don’t know what’s been cut.
How it runs

What happens, step by step.

1

Consult & measure

Showroom or in-home. We measure properly, talk budget honestly, and listen to how you actually cook.

2

Design & quote

A millimetre-accurate design with a fixed, itemised proposal. You sign off the drawings, not a sketch.

3

Built in our workshop

Your cabinetry is made in-house on the Sunshine Coast, checked against the drawings before it leaves.

4

Install & handover

Installed by the makers, trades coordinated, site left clean. Walkthrough against the drawings at handover.

Insured, covered, guaranteed

The paperwork behind the price.

Public liability to $20M, and a 10-year cabinetry warranty, all in writing, all on request.

Kitchen work over $3,300 in Queensland legally requires a QBCC licence on the contract, ours is on every proposal. We carry public liability to $20M, the cabinetry is warranted in writing for ten years, and the hardware and benchtop warranties are registered for you at handover.

The cover, the guarantee, and how to check each one.
Questions, answered

Custom Cabinetry & Joinery: common questions.

Can you match my existing kitchen's finish?
Usually yes. We identify the board or 2-pac colour and the profile, and build the new piece to match. Where an exact match is impossible (discontinued boards), we tell you straight and show the closest options.
Is there a minimum job size?
No minimum, but workshop set-up means a single small cupboard carries more overhead per dollar than a pantry or wall unit. We are honest about when a stock solution would serve you better.
What materials do you use for the carcasses?
HMR (moisture-resistant) board as standard, upgraded to plywood for wet areas or clients who want extra rigidity. We name the board in the quote, not just melamine carcass, so you know exactly what is behind the fronts.
How long does a bespoke piece take from first consult to install?
Typically two to four weeks from design sign-off to install, depending on workshop load and any long-lead materials. We confirm your slot when the design is approved, not off a phone call.
Can you build something I have only seen in a magazine or on Instagram?
Usually yes. Send us the reference before the consult and we will pull apart what makes it work: the proportions, the board, the edge detail, the hardware. Some specifications need adapting for Australian availability and we will tell you straight if that is the case.
